This is an alert thread that I decided to start here. For those who do not live in the United States, this doesn't effect you for the time being, but what is going on is that we have gone into the third day (now fourth day) of the U.S. Government Shutdown due to Republicans refusing to prear government spending bills over wanting to dismantle or delay the affordable health care act known as ObamaCare.
While I have been following this on CNN, I just heard there have been gun shots being fired on Capital Hill forcing the Capital to be on lock down while swarms of police calls and secret service agents have shown up not allowing anyone to enter or leave capital hill. What I can tell what happened, is an African-American woman tried to ram her black black Infiniti car through a White House Security Checkpoint causing officers to draw their weapons. This turned into a high speed chase that ended at Capital Hill where the woman was shot dead by police. At that time, it was learned she had a 1½ year old daughter in the backseat of the car. While the incident is under investigation, it is learned the woman had not fired any shots as she had no weapon on her. The police deemed her using her car as a weapon and decided to do with they had to do. It is also learned the woman has a sister living in Brooklyn, New York. There has also been a search warrant issued for the woman's home in an apartment complex in Hartford, Connecticut where there had to bring in a Hazmat Team due to finding an envelope with a suspicious white substance on it.
At this time, if you happen to live anywhere near the District of Columbia, I would recommend taking extra precautions for your own safety in case this isn't an isolated incident and has anything to do with the Government Shutdown. With the deadline to raise the Debt Ceiling is approaching on October 17th, it could become much worse if it doesn't get raised. How worse? They say interest rates on your car loans and mortgages could skyrocket and lead you not be able to pay them. And it is said that shock waves from the crash being felt around the world, so overseas members might also get effected in one form or another.
